I was at a crafts club event last night and we were doing bedazzling!! A lot of people were doing clothes and oh my GLOB I'm so glad I didn't because having to individually glue each stone looked like a massive freaking pain in the behind. like the person I was sat with only managed to get 2 letters down before we ran out of time! I'm so sad I didn't get time to walk around and look at everyone's stuff too :((( But the event was still totally wizard and I left with a swagadellic and wicked bedazzled guitar B))))

[24.9.26] - Wowowow ART!

Wowow its certainly been a while! There was an art walk event on Karangahape Road that took you through a bunch of the small art galleries that were there and it was UBER COOL!!!! :DDD I really wish I was more educated in art terminology and technical info tho :( ANyways! Here are some of my memorable pieces/places from the day!!!:

Some of my favourite sculptures of the day were at Lett Thomas! I wish I could've stuck around more and really look at them but I was with a friend and there were 19 galleries to visit. In particular I enjoyed Road Runner by Mike Hewson and Wave by Chris Booth. Would looooooooove to get back in there to see them again :) I imagine that Wave looks very sad to most people except those under like 5 foot.

Audio Foundation was FREAKING WICKED and probs my favourite spot and most likely that I would engage with like repeatedly. Genuinely thinking about getting a membership to the Music Electronics Library like it was so freaking COOL like actual awesomesauce :DD 

Samoa House Library was really chill and it had a super cool view and there was an outdoor patio thing with a picnic table that was right over K Road!!! I'm absolutely gonna be there again some time

Olivia McGregor gallery in the Ironbank building was also super cool they had some performance art stuff going on that was a real trip but unfortunately I was at the back of the group that was there so I only caught like 2 thirds of the performance :/ but thats alright! Also they had this projector playing ballet footage (late 70s? 80s? Was in colour. Could've been a poor quality 90s? Idk but one of my first thoughts was soviet seeing it) on a textured white wallpaper, which again I would've loved to stare at for super long but we had to keep moving.

These are only some of the great things that were there and so here's a photo of the map and list of all the galleries that were part of the walk!!!!

I did also take a couple photos of some of the pieces I enjoyed, but unfortunately I did forget exactly which galleries they came from so I can't properly credit them :( We can only blame the great diversity of small art galleries and spaces that are hiding around Auckland and how good all of them that I can't remember all the cool pieces I see, le sigh... I guess the only solution is for you guys to go experience local art spaces instead...
